Writer and poet, Jennifer Brady was the Enviro special guest today. She read from the novel, ‘If Only I’d Left the Beach’. The launch is in The Sky Bar in Wrights Findlaters, Howth on Friday 15th Sept at 8pm. Johnny Fallon will be playing and a group of trad musicians who jam together in the Watermill on Monday nights. Johnny Fallon has composed a special CD ‘Mood Swings’ to mark the occasion of the book launch.
In the program Jennifer also read from her poetry book ‘The River Cafe Collection’. She is also at an advanced stage in the preparation of a book called ‘The Depression Handbook’ It is based on her own personal experiences in that regard.
Enviro presenter John played music appropriate to the occasion including Leonard Cohen’s ‘Love Itself’, Judy Collins cover version of the Leonard Cohen song ‘Song of Bernadette’ from the MOJO CD ‘Cohen Covered’ and several tracks from the CD ‘Dare to Dream’ by Sean M. Kelly including the well known ‘Over a Rainbow’. Joe Dunne participated in the discussions which took place. There was a short discussion on feeding and relating to birdlife and John mentioned his family experience of a pair of pigeons nesting outside the bedroom window and a pair of Blue tits raising and feeding young just outside the back window and the dedication of the parents right up to the time when the chicks left the nest last Thursday.
