Our series started with the last story of the book, as probably the best known, The Dead. The party at the Misses Morkan’s Annual Dance. The guests are enjoying the music, the dance and the drinks. Freddi and Mr. Brown are there, and also Gabriel Conroy, the Morkans nephew, who is coming to the end of the speech after a delightful dinner. This story was recorded in the Mount Clare Hotel and we were joined by some of the members of the Swenys Pharmacy group. Among our readers were Rebecca Bloomfield, Declan Cahill, Colm Keegan, Peter Prior, Joe Murphy, Mary McNamara and Michael Sharp.
For the reading of Eveline we travelled to Raheny’s Public Library. We talked to Librarian Terri Murray, who explained how important is this initiative from her point of view. Eveline was read by Sheila McGettrick, Paula Skehan and David Ivory.
