This Sporting Life: The Story of Minority Sport in North Dublin

This Sporting Life is an upbeat and lively series of short documentaries which capture the excitement and dedication of minority sports people and encourages others to join in. Each programme serves as an introduction to a different minority sport practiced in Northside Dublin.

14. Motocross

Dublin City Motocross Club was set up in 2010 providing a much needed resource to the local community. The track is located on the Alfie Byrne road and the club’s aims are to provide a safe, structured environment for motocross riders to practice their sport and better their skills.

The setting up of the track and the club has meant that conflicts which had arisen between local people and bike riders are virtually a thing of the past in the area. We spoke to the chairman of the club Brian Harte about why he got involved. We also spoke to Paul Boyle and Nathan Ward about buzz of riding motocross bikes.
