This Sporting Life: The Story of Minority Sport in North Dublin

This Sporting Life is an upbeat and lively series of short documentaries which capture the excitement and dedication of minority sports people and encourages others to join in. Each programme serves as an introduction to a different minority sport practiced in Northside Dublin.

13. Kayaking

Shearwater Sea Kayaking is based in Howth and offers sea kayaking courses that cater for all levels from beginners to the more advanced.

Set up by Eileen Murphy and Sean Pierce, classes and trips take place all year round. John Kelly went along to Howth to find out more about kayaking and spoke to the instructors and some of  the participants. John found out that North County Dublin with it’s beautiful coastline and offshore Islands is a great place to go sea kayaking.
