This Sporting Life: The Story of Minority Sport in North Dublin

This Sporting Life is an upbeat and lively series of short documentaries which capture the excitement and dedication of minority sports people and encourages others to join in. Each programme serves as an introduction to a different minority sport practiced in Northside Dublin.

11. Kitesurfing

If you’ve spent anytime on Dollymount Strand or Burrow Beach you’ll have seen brightly-coloured kites out on the water. NearFM talked to some of the people who fly those kites and take part in KiteSurfing competitions.

Instructors like Catherine Etienne, Christophe Kerscaven and JJ Daly as well as learners from the Pure Magic Kitesurfing school in Clontarf welcomed NearFM into their world. And other kitesurfers along the beach took time out from watching the wind to explain why they love this sport so much.
