Culture Shots programme 25 takes a closer look at Belong To’s new project for Lesbian, Gay Bisexual and Transgendered Asylum Seekers and Refugees. Eoin Drinan interviews Marissa Ryan, the project’s coordinator, to learn more about this new initiative.
Later on, we hear highlights from the project’s launch, including Patricia Brazil, Averill Deverill lecturer in Law at TCD speaking about her research as the national expert for Ireland to the European Fleeing Homophobia campaign, and Sophie Magennis of UNHCR in Ireland, speaking about the value of this project towards realizing of the human rights of LGBTI people.
Finally, Roseline Westenburg and Hailuu Netsiyanwa catch up with Sue Conlon, CEO of the Irish Refugee Council and Dr. Nazih Eldin, Director of the HSE Health Promotion Office to hear their thoughts at the project’s launch event.
