Kevin Halpenny, Senior Parks Superintendent, Planning & Strategic Infrastructure Department, Fingal County Council, talks to Noel McGuinness on Northside Today. He says that trainee positions are available for work on restoration that is being carried out at Bremore Castle, Balbriggan. Bremore Castle is a national monument owned by Fingal County Council and recently the Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Education & Training Board (DDLETB) has sponsored the comprehensive reconstruction of the Castle. The restoration work is being carried out by trainees participating in a Local Training Initiative overseen by the DDLETB. Applicants must generally be aged between 16-35. The course is a full-time 50 week course. Applicants may be entitled to receive a Training Allowance while on the course. The modules include Safepass, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, 4 component Certificates in IT, Concreting & Paviour Laying.
