Tony Weekes, Economist and Lecturer with the Maynooth Communiversity programme, talks to Noel McGuinness on Northside Today.  Tony says that the purpose of the ‘economy’ is to serve the needs of society yet almost ten years on from the collapse of the world banking system, not much has been done to improve our society. Reforms are urgently needed. Among matters discussed was that much of what is presented to us is superficial. We are overwhelmed by measurement e.g. economic growth, not by quality. We should be asking about how we can improve the quality of life.
