TV Smith is an English punk rock singer-songwriter. He formed The Adverts in 1976. They released two glorious albums, Crossing the Red Sea with the Adverts and Cast of Thousand before splitting in 1979. He formed TV Smith’s Explorers and Cheap after but neither gained the public attention The Adverts did. He has been pursuing a critically acclaimed solo career since the 1990s. He is renowned as one of the “most talented, literate and passionate – yet curiously overlooked – songwriters to emerge from London’s vibrant ’77 new wave scene.”

He joined us on Left of the Dial to talk about his current acoustic album, forthcoming studio album, buying music and his relentless touring schedule.
