This Sporting Life: The Story of Minority Sport in North Dublin

This Sporting Life is an upbeat and lively series of short documentaries which capture the excitement and dedication of minority sports people and encourages others to join in. Each programme serves as an introduction to a different minority sport practiced in Northside Dublin.

29. Bootcamp

Bootcamp is a military style fitness training program that has been putting Irish men and women through their paces since 2004. All the training takes place outdoors and Near Fm’s Mark Staunton bravely volunteered to take part in a class on a very cold winters evening in Marino College. The classes are tough but there is great encouragement given from both the instructors and fellow participants and a real sense of camaraderie.
