This Sporting Life: The Story of Minority Sport in North Dublin

This Sporting Life is an upbeat and lively series of short documentaries which capture the excitement and dedication of minority sports people and encourages others to join in. Each programme serves as an introduction to a different minority sport practiced in Northside Dublin.

21. Windsurfing

Windsurfing  is a watersport that combines elements of surfing and sailing and only originated back in the 1960’s. We went along to Malahide estuary to meet the students from the Shackleton course in Colaiste Dhulaigh who told us about learning windsurfing and the thrill of the sport. We also found out that Ireland is a great place for windsurfing and that once the sport gets a hold of you it can be incredibly addictive.

Featuring Elenor Conroy, Dan Kealy and the students if the Shackleton course in Colaiste Dhulaigh. Produced by Edd Kealy.
