This Sporting Life: The Story of Minority Sport in North Dublin

This Sporting Life is an upbeat and lively series of short documentaries which capture the excitement and dedication of minority sports people and encourages others to join in. Each programme serves as an introduction to a different minority sport practiced in Northside Dublin.

7. Gymnastics

Mid-Sutton Gymnastics Club was founded back in 1998. The club specialises in display gymnastics and has represented Ireland at events in the UK and Gran Canaria. The Club hosts it’s own international event Fleadh every year at UCD which attracts the top teams from all over Europe, the UK and Ireland. The club caters for all levels of gymnastics including general, sports acrobatics, display and also have a team involved in the special olympics. The club is very much like one big family and is going from strength to strength. With contributions from Charlie O’Donohoe, Tommy Maloney, Declan Thorton, and coaches Niamh and Trish.
