5. Handball
Handball has been a popular Dublin sport since the GAA was founded in 1884. Today Na Fianna in Glasnevin is one of Ireland’s top clubs. This documentary features handball players and coaches from the club including Cliona Daly, her husband Frank and older players like Mick O’Brien and Pat Ryan. Thanks also to Handball Ireland and the Garda station in Clontarf for talking to us. And to the junior players who interrupted their training to talk!
This series is made with the support of the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland’s Sound and Vision scheme.
