July 31^st, marked the 50^th anniversary of the Miami Showband Massacre in Banbridge. Stephen Travers, one of two survivors, joined Orla to talk all things before and after the tragic event.  From learning how to play the harmonica upside down as a child, to feeling connected to the Universe when he played his first bass guitar, Stephen shares stories of laughter and joy during his time in the band, and laments on what could have been.

His message of peace and hope after the event is clear, and he writes about it in his new book The Bass Player, scheduled for pre-sale on September 25^th, 2025. Stephen had a wonderful selection of songs to share coupled with stories and memories.

A celebration to commemorate the deaths of his band mates will take place at Vicar Street on Monday, September 29^th
