As a kick start to 2024, this programme takes a film set on the feast of the epiphany, The Dead (1987) directed by John Huston and connects it to Nora (2000) directed by Pat Murphy, which tells the story of Nora Barnacle. These films are linked through the story of Michael Furey that inspired James Joyce’s short story, but is also a story owned by Nora Barnacle and claimed back in Pat Murphy’s film.
