Jack Gannon has been described as a Left-leaning Dubliner. John Connell sat down with him to talk on many matters regarding Irish culture, Irish language and literature, plus the changing attitudes of Irish people down the years in such things as religion, music, dancing and trade union issues.
In this recording, Jack Gannon talks about working conditions for construction workers in Ireland in the early 1960s. Jack remembers hearing Irish been spoken by builders in Galway and how he learnt to speak Irish fluently.
