Between the Lines: 22/01/2012

Katherine Gibney was joined in the studio by SIPTU sector organiser Louise O’ Reilly, regular contributor Brian Greene (the Socialist Party) and Johhny Fox of IMPACT.

We talked about the privatisation of Dublin’s refuse collection in the context of the increased charges, ineffective change over, and in how the Dublin City Council workers have been effected as a result of the sale to Greyhound, also we discussed how devastating HSE cuts, proposed and applied, will effect front line services.

We would like to thank Councillor Emer Costello and Councillor Rebecca Moynihan who contacted us on Sunday morning, in an attempt to join the discussion on Greyhound, and the Rubbish Collection. Unfortunately we didn’t receive the messages until after the programme, despite being contacted in time by the Councillors.  We hope to revisit this topic in the coming weeks.
