Reminiscence on the Radio: 1966

1966 was the year that ‘The Merry Ploughboy’ knocked ‘Yellow Submarine’ off the Irish charts.  It was also the year that Pauline Kelly and Lynda Kearns met when they started their first hairdressing jobs in South Anne Street.  Lynda had been to see the Beatles when they played in the Adelphi Cinema in 1963 as a 15 year old – her favourite Beatle is Paul McCartney.  Pauline recited ‘I Dream My Dreams Ben Eadair’ by her relative Pearse McLoughlin ‘The Bard of Howth’.
