1957 was the year that Joe Brennan proposed to his wife Maureen – an identical twin.  Before he got engaged he contacted an old girlfriend who worked in a jewellery shop to see if she would give him a discount on the ring… she did!  That same year Brian Graham was a fifteen-year-old who began his life-long love of adventuring hostelling with An Óige.  Brian travelled to China, Egypt and India staying in hostels, but never forgot the first weekend he spent in the Wicklow mountains.  Brian became president of An Óige and recounts some of the escapades he shared with Joe Brennan in the 1950s.  Joe is an active member of the Dublin City University Age Friendly University Global Network.
