In the brand new series ‘Reminiscence on the Radio’ which looks back at memories from the 1950s and 60s through songs, stories, soundtracks and a splash of poetry, Karen Meenan spoke to Pat McLaughlin and Rosemary Quinn. The year featured was 1950, and this was the year that Pat, aged 6, ran away from home and was found on the main street in Wexford. It was also the year that Rosemary, aged 12, was granted a scholarship to Our Lady of the Bower in Athlone. This scholarship changed her life and gave her an education which would see her as one of the leading female entrepreneurs of the 1970s.
