The Bill, which the Dáil has twice voted to progress to Third Stage, would end the issuing of new licences to explore for oil and gas in Irish waters.
• Following the RTE TV ‘RTE Investigates’ program exposing the extreme cruelty of the greyhound industry many sponsors including FBD Insurance, Barrys Tea, Treacy’s hotel in Waterford and Botanica International have withdrawn their sponsorships and the Rose of Tralee organisers have been urged to cut their ties with the industry
• Pamplona bull running in the San Fermin festival in Spain is one of a number of such events and is an example of Animal cruelty which has to be eliminated.
• Hinckley Point is one of eight new nuclear plants proposed.
• MOURNE MOUNTAINS: The British Government is considering the Mourne Mountains as a location for the storage of nuclear waste from their nuclear power plants.
• TREES: Research carried out and documented in the journal Science has concluded in the words of Professor Tom Crowther that forest restoration “is the best climate change solution available today
• HEMP and trees may be the solution to solve the climate crisis
• The proposed Mercosur trade deal between the EU
• The Rhino-Some species are extinct while others are on the brink of extinction
• Forest Friends are organising an open day at the ABCD, the Arts and Business Campus 40 Lower Drumcondra Road Dublin 9 where their office is located. For Tuesday 9^th July
• Recent research has concluded that farmed salmon is the most toxic food in the world
