Maura Walsh chats to Ciara Sidine ahead of her Tradfest gig with The New Folk on Sunday, 28th January 2018 at St. Werburgh’s Church

Ciara is a Dublin based Irish singer/songwriter. She admits to being a ‘late bloomer’ onto the music scene and  charts her journey from literature and advocacy to song writing and performance.
Ciara cares deeply about many issues and is unafraid to tackle the big themes of society. She co-founded ‘Midwives for Choice’ and provides the background to two of her tracks featured on the show from her second album, Unbroken Line:
‘Woman Of Constant Sorrow
‘Finest Flower’
Her Americana Celtic sound has been likened to that of Emmylou Harris.
