Cormac Moore, Historian in Residence for Dublin City Libraries North Central Area, talks to Noel McGuinness about a new history society for Coolock and the surrounding areas. To kick-start the society, a talk will be given by Dr. Ruth McManus at Parnells GAA Club at 7pm on Thursday 23rd November. She will talk about how Coolock and the surrounding areas grew from farmlands to the urban community it is today. Cormac will have more information about this when he talks to Noel again on Friday 17th November.

In today’s interview Cormac also talks about the legend of Patrick O’Connell and his successful career in international soccer.

He will give a talk – “Patrick O’Connell: The forgotten story of his football career” – on Tuesday 21 November at 1pm in Dublin City Library and Archive, Pearse Street.

An exhibition – “Patrick O’Connell: The Man who Saved FC Barcelona” will take place from Friday 10 November to Tuesday 21 December 2017 at Dublin City Library & Archive, Pearse Street.
