Workplace Training Programme Developed by Speedpak

Speedpak in Clonshaugh is a social enterprise that aims to improve the employability of long-term unemployed people on Dublin’s Northside by providing real work experience, accredited training, mentoring, tailored interventions and supports in a commercial business environment. John Murphy, C.E.O. of Speedpak, talks to Noel McGuinness about the organisation and its programme that combines work and learning. He says that fifteen training staff at Speedpak recently received a Level 4 Certificate in General Learning which is equivalent to the Leaving Certificate. The award is part of the Workplace Accreditation Model training programme developed by Speedpak in conjunction with Colaiste Dhulaigh College of Further Education. Aimed at early school leavers, John says that a total of forty people have benefitted from the programme to date. For further information see www.speedpak.ie
