Joe O’Brien, Crosscare’s Irish Abroad Networking Officer, talks to Noel McGuinness about the new website www.mindhowyougo.ie which gives support to young Irish emigrants. The site was developed following extensive consultation with five hundred recent emigrants whose responses showed loneliness and homesickness that Skype and social media have not been able to overcome. For anyone planning to emigrate, the website gives honest and realistic accounts of what to consider before they go and also helpful information for when they arrive.
