This Sporting Life: The Story of Minority Sport in North Dublin

This Sporting Life is an upbeat and lively series of short documentaries which capture the excitement and dedication of minority sports people and encourages others to join in. Each programme serves as an introduction to a different minority sport practiced in Northside Dublin.

26. Sailing

Malahide Yacht Club started life back in 1958 and over its history has been extremely successful, producing an Olympic silver medalist, had competitors represent Ireland in 9 Olympic games as well as producing numerous national champions. Edd Kealy went along to the clubs state-of-the-art dinghy sailing center at Broadmeadows estuary in Malahide to find out more about the sport of sailing and the club. Featuring Olympian Ciara Peelo, talented young sailor Lizzy McDowell and  the Commodore and Vice-Commodore of Malahide Yacht Club, Bob Sugrue and Graham Smith.
