This Sporting Life: The Story of Minority Sport in North Dublin

This Sporting Life is an upbeat and lively series of short documentaries which capture the excitement and dedication of minority sports people and encourages others to join in. Each programme serves as an introduction to a different minority sport practiced in Northside Dublin.

1. Lawn Bowls

The first part of the 30 part series focuses on Lawn Bowls and in particular the Clontarf Golf and Bowling Club. The members featured in the program are Brian Duffly, Billy Bradshaw, Noel Dempsey, Pat Sweeney, Kevin O’Brien, Marie Carney and Oliver Flanagan. The Bowling section of the club was founded in 1925 and is a founder member of the Bowling League of Ireland.
