Charles Stanley Smith of the Environmental Pillar talks to Noel McGuinness on Northside2Day about hydraulic fracturing, commonly known as “fracking”.  This is a technique used to release gas or other substances from rock formations.  The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is currently undertaking a study on fracking and until the results of this study are known this method of extraction is on hold in Ireland.
