The annual Service of Carols with readings by Candelight took place in St Doulagh’s Church of Ireland, Balgriffin, on the 9th December 2012.The medieval part of this ancient church is said to date from the middle-third of the 12th century and it is believed that earlier activity on this site can be traced back to the 6th century. The modern church was built in 1864, by the Rev W.S. Kennedy, M.A., Rector of the parish, and was consecrated by Archbishop Trench on the Feast of the Conversion of St Paul in 1865. The annual Carol `Service features the music of the First Dublin Company Boys Brigade, directed by Peter O Callaghan, and the Congregation of the parish led by the Rev. Ken Sherwood and Rev.Norman Gamble.
