Greyhounds make great pets
Una Phelan talks to Noel McGuinness on Northside2Day about the work of the Greyhound Rescue Association of Ireland and she describes how greyhounds make wonderful gentle pets. Unlike many people’s perceptions, greyhounds are very lazy but they are also very affectionate and great with children. They have very short hair, with no undercoat, and therefore shed less hair and produce less allergens than other dogs. Greyhounds are indoor dogs and only need two short walks a day, after that they sleep a lot. There is a large number of dogs in the rescue centre and if you’d like to adopt a greyhound, listen to this podcast or go to www.grai.ie to find out all the details.
