The weather again prevented Fergal Somerville’s second attempt to swim from Donaghadee Co. Down across to the coast of Scotland. Fergal tells Noel McGuinness on Northside2Day that safety is of vital importance and although both he and the accompanying boat were ready and waiting to go at 05.45am on Thursday 26th July, the weather conditions did not permit this attempt. Fergal’s swim is a means of fundraising for Aislinn Adolescent Addiction Service and so far he has raised over EUR2,000.
