Last year Fergal Sommerville successfully swam the English Channel and raised over EUR18,500 for Cystic Fibrosis research in Beaumont Hospital. In this podcast he tells Noel McGuinness on Northside2Day about his plans for a solo swim from Donaghadee harbour in Co. Down to Portpatrick on the Dumfrys coast of Scotland.  The 33+Km swim will take him between 14 and 17 hours to complete and the funds raised will be for Aislinn Adolescent Addiction Services.  Fergal aims to become only the 13^th successful North Channel Swimmer, while to date 90 individuals have attempted this swim.
