Darren J. Prior spoke to Bryan O’Mahony, President of AMLÉ – Ireland’s Student Movement, about how a lot of further education and third-level students are struggling with the cost of college fees, accommodation and the cost-of-living crisis. Many education staff are struggling too. Bryan repeated the AMLÉ policy at the end that further and third-level education should in their view be completely free of state fees. They also discussed the name change of AMLÉ with delegates voting in May for the name of their union to go from being the USI/AMLÉ to being solely AMLÉ and Darren asked Bryan if the name change is also coming into effect in Northern Ireland?
