Seven Stages for Seven Ages – episode 2 – School Days

Play

Shakespeare covered the seven stages of life better than most in a speech called The Seven Ages of Man in a play called As You Like It.  Shakespeare’s speech was all about boys and men, but our series is all about girls and women. Join us on our seven-week journey through the ages stopping off at all the stages from child to teenager, from mother to grandmother, from work to retirement, from multitasker to multi-talented, from social commentator to mould breaker, and everything in between. Starts on Friday Feb 2nd at 3.30pm

Clara Kelly (L), Aoife Dwan (M) and Aisling O’Reilly (R)

Episode 2 is all about childhood and school. Listen to our third-class primary school girls, Clara Kelly, Aoife Dwan and Aisling O’Reilly from Mount Anville Primary School discussing what they like and dislike about modern childhood and school. Is school great fun? Are the lessons interesting? Is it hard to make friends and fit in? Is it good to be a child in 2024? How do modern children amuse themselves? So many questions to be answered by Aoife, Clara, and Aisling, helped along the way with poetry from Mary Oyediran, Michael J Whelan, and Berni Dwan, song from Thomas McCarthy and Alan O’Brien, and a guest appearance from retired primary school teacher Tom Walshe.
