Seven Stages for Seven Ages – episode 1 – Birth

Play
Edith Chukwu

Shakespeare covered the seven stages of life better than most in a speech called The Seven Ages of Man in a play called As You Like It.  Shakespeare’s speech was all about boys and men, but our series is all about girls and women. Join us on our seven-week journey through the ages stopping off at all the stages from child to teenager, from mother to grandmother, from work to retirement, from multitasker to multi-talented, from social commentator to mould breaker, and everything in between. Starts on Friday Feb 2nd at 3.30pm

Niamh Hand (L), and Jennifer Prater (R)

Episode 1 is all about birth. Listen to our experienced and not so experienced mothers, as they talk about the challenges of bringing home a new baby and coping with the early childhood years, helped along the way with poetry and song about the wonders of birth and the magic of those early years. Is it scary?  Is it exhausting? Is it the hardest job ever?  Edith Chukwu, Niamh Hand, and Jennifer Prater will generously share their hopes and fears with us. You will hear singing from Abimbola Olorire and Thomas McCarthy, and poetry from Jimmy O’Connell, Mary Oyediran, Michael J Whelan and Berni Dwan.
