Dermot Deering worked as a secondary school teacher for many years in the Dublin area, where he taught Geography, History and Spanish. A graduate of the National University of Ireland, Maynooth, Dermot has an MA in History. He has also completed a post-graduate diploma in Ecumenics from the Irish School of Ecumenics, TCD.  In recent years, Dermot has worked as a tour guide taking groups around different parts of Ireland and also given talks around Dublin, celebrating the life of James Joyce. 

He joins Mary Oyediran to discuss his first historical book: Rise and Demise: The Life and Career of Sir Cornelius Alfred Moloney
