In this episode we will draw all the ancient and modern educational strands together by looking at Patrick Pearse in particular, and his unique educational offering in St Enda’s, supported by material recorded at the Pearse Museum with Curator, Brian Crowley discussing educational exhibits at the museum.

Brian Crowley is a curator with the Office of Public Works in Kilmainham Gaol and the Pearse Museum. He is the author of ‘Patrick Pearse: A Life in Pictures’ published by Mercier Press. He is the former chair of the Irish Museums Association, is currently a director and has served as editor of its journal, ‘Museums Ireland’. He studied English and History in Trinity College and then completed a Masters in Museology in the University of East Anglia.

 

 

 

Dr Brendan Walsh worked as a post-primary school teacher from 1989-2000 teaching English, History, Geography and Classical Studies. He lectures in the fields of History of Education, Education Policy and Classroom Practice. Dr Walsh was inaugural & nbsp; Head of the School of Policy and Practice at the Faculty of Education and is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Evaluation, Quality and Inspection at Dublin City University.
