Darren J. Prior spoke to Councillor Hazel Smyth from the Green Party who is the Mayor of Mullingar-Kinnegad Municipal District about the motion she put down at the monthly meeting of Westmeath County Council in November 2022 calling for hare coursing to be banned in Westmeath. Her motion was defeated with only two councillors Hazel included voting in favour of it. For most of the interview though Hazel told Darren about some of her background and why she decided to get involved in local politics and she told me why Mullingar and Westmeath in general is a great place to live and some of the big plans coming to the town and county in 2023.
