‘Danny Dempsey and The Unlikely Alliance’ by Denis Byrne.

The first programme of the new series called ‘Turn a New Leaf’. The book is aimed at children between the ages of 10-12 years (and indeed adults will enjoy it too!). The objectives of reading this story are:

(a) to encourage primary school children to read more

(b) to try get them to join their local public library

(c) after a period of time, encourage the children to write stories themselves.
