Darren J. Prior spoke to Senator Mark Wall (Labour) about the legislation he and his party have put down in the Oireachtas to try to ban gambling advertising. In late March 2022 the bill passed the second stage in Seanad Éireann with Government parties support and there is now a real likelihood that the legislation will pass in general. The Government also have legislation the Gambling Regulation Bill (2022) before the Oireachtas but this latter legislation is not expected to ban gambling advertising.
