‘Talkin’ About Neurodegeneration’ – Presented by Karen Meenan 09 – 08 – 2021

Where do you begin to communicate the message of Brain Health?  And how can you encourage the rest of the world to listen to Africa’s appeal for vaccine equity?  Wendy Weidner, research and policy project lead for Alzheimer’s Disease International, is joined by Rachel Thompson, Consultant Admiral Nurse for Lewy Body Dementia, and Ken Greaney, director of Lewy Body Ireland for a lively discussion about equity in dementia care.  Dr David McNair, Executive Director for Global Policy in ONE shares shocking statistics about the vaccine rollout in Africa where only 1.3% of the 1.3 billion population are vaccinated against Covid-19.  Frontline workers in Uganda and other countries don’t have PPE or vaccines and cannot get access to this life saving medicine despite having the funding to buy it.   As always the guests choose the music from Bach, Labbi Siffri, Dan Fogelberg, Don McLean and The Cardigans.
