Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) is the most common form of neurodegenerative disease in the world, in fact 60% of all cases of dementia are AD.  One of the key features of this brain disorder is memory loss.  In this programme Gerontologist Dr Gary Christopher from UWE Bristol chats with Sean Mackell, chair of the Irish Dementia Working Group about what it’s like living with AD.  They are joined by Seán Dónal O’Shea who was a caregiver for his mother Debbie who had Young Onset Alzheimer’s Disease (YOAD) and Clodagh Whelan who is the Advocacy, Engagement and Participation Officer of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.  This programme features a great soundtrack too!
