Paul Hayes, Education Coordinator, with the Northside Partnership, lives outside Newry in County Armagh and commutes to Dublin for work. He talks about how Brexit creates anxiety in this area and how his normal life is about constantly crossing the border. As well as commuting for work, he goes to see family in Dundalk, or simply crosses the border for shopping and recreation. He talks about how checkpoints at the border make everyone think anxiously about the Troubles and how south Armagh has changes drastically since the times it was almost a ‘no go’ area for many people. And how places north of the border area such as the Slieve Gullion area are now renowned for recreation and attracts people from north and south of the border.
Paul was in interview with Ciaran Murray, made with the support of the Communicating Europe initiative
