Colette Bennett, Research and Policy Analyst with Social Justice Ireland (SJI), talks to Noel McGuinness about the recently published SJI National Social Monitor – Sustainability Edition. This shows that while Ireland has a commitment to be carbon neutral by 2050, up to €4 billion is spent every year on potentially environmentally damaging subsidies. The report states that Ireland will never achieve a Just Transition until our development is sustainable socially, economically and environmentally. Without sustainable development we will never achieve our national and international targets. For further information see https://www.socialjustice.ie/
