Spot the Stranger – 15th – 28th April
If you are looking for ways to keep your children entertained during the Easter break
then this may be just the thing for you and your family.
Children in Hospital Ireland have launched this fun competition “Spot the Stranger”
which will run from 15th -28th April and is based in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.  Each
entry costs €5.00 with all proceeds directly supporting the work of Children in
Hospital Ireland.
So what is it all about?
“Spot the Stranger” is a type of treasure hunt.   Each entrant receives a competition
answer sheet with the participating shops listed.  Their objective is to look into each
of the participating shop windows to see if they can “Spot the Stranger” (e.g. a shoe
in a Jewellery shop window or banana in a bookshop window) and fill in their answer
for each shop listed on the entry form.  We are advising entrants that entry forms can
be returned with €5.00 entry fee to Eason Dun Laoghaire, or they can download the
form from our website and pay online.
The Dun Laoghaire retailers have been so supportive in getting on board with this
competition, Colin Hand from Eason Dun Laoghaire said “kids love getting out and
about, discovering new things, exploring, and using their powers of deduction and it’s
great that they can take part, have fun while raising funds for children who might not
be so fortunate.”
Anna Gunning CEO of Children in Hospital Ireland says “this Easter, during the
holidays, we are aiming to raise funds through this fun competition for children and
their families to help make hospital a happier place for children.  Fundraising helps
us to continue and grow our volunteer play services in 13 hospitals nationwide – with
the objective of ensuring that every child in hospital has access to play and re-
creation.”
Child centred activities are at the core of what we do – and we think this “Spot the
Stranger” fundraiser will be a very welcome activity for families during the Easter
Break – while also creating a sense of community and support in the participating
shops.
