Ruthless: A Decade of Live Music Photography is an exciting new exhibition showcasing the ‘live’ work of renowned Irish photographer, Ruth Medjber running from Friday 23rd November to Sunday 2nd December at the Fumbally Exchange, Dame Lane Dublin 2.

The exhibition will run for two weeks from Friday 23rd November to Sunday 2nd December 2018 (Mon-Sat 10am-8pm & Sun 10am-6pm) in the Fumbally Exchange, Dame Lane, Dublin 2, a space that lends itself to the raw aesthetic of a rock & roll tour.

Having covered some of the greatest musical performances in Ireland over the last 10 years, Medjber has taken incredible live shots of international stars like Metallica, LCD Soundsystem, Jay Z, Grace Jones, Leonard Cohen and Dua Lipa, as well as homegrown heroes like Le Galaxie, All Tvvins, Lisa Hannigan and many more.

This is the first solo exhibition from Medjber, who has shot for NME, Rolling Stone, and Hot Press. She’s toured extensively around Ireland, the UK and Europe, capturing intimate, dynamic shots of some of the world’s greatest live acts. This is a debut not to be missed, and an opportunity to pick up unique artwork from some of the best gigs Ireland has ever hosted.

· It will also be the first time Medjber exhibits work from her recent European tour with legendary Canadian act, Arcade Fire. In this choice selection of images, we see the band in all their glory both on and off stage. In a nod to the band’s own charitable ethos, the profits from the sale of these images will be donated to the many people living in Direct Provision in Ireland.

Photographer Ruth Medjber (aka Ruthless Imagery) was born in Dublin to Irish/Algerian parents. Through her work as a respected live music photographer, she’s captured internationally renowned acts like Beyoncé, Metallica, Jay-Z, Green Day, Muse, Madonna, and many more. Armed with her AAA pass, she’s gained unprecedented ‘behind the scenes’ access to Electric Picnic, and even covered the Stone Roses during their iconic show at Marlay Park.

Most recently, Ruth has been working backstage with Arcade Fire, documenting their 2018 tour. At home in Dublin you can find Ruth in her studio, where she creates album artwork and photography for local musicians. She’s also passionate about promoting gender balance in the music industry; indeed, her acclaimed portrait series ‘Women of Notes’ celebrates Ireland’s talented wealth of female musicians.
