Think Before You Flush

Elaine Doyle, Clean Coasts Campaigns Officer, talks to Noel McGuinness about the “Think Before You Flush” campaign. The campaign was launched by Clean Coasts together with Irish Water following the report that 4,600 sewer blockages occurred this year. Flushing items such as wet wipes, cotton bud sticks, nappies and cotton wool pads down the toilet instead of putting them in a bin can have a negative impact on internal plumbing in homes and businesses, the wastewater network and our marine environment.
