Noel McGuinness talks to William Byrne whose great grandfather was aboard the ill-fated mailboat the RMS Leinster which was sunk by a German torpedo 100 years ago. William talks about the bravery of his great grandfather John Donohoe who saved the life of 16 year old Cabin Boy Tom Connolly. He also mentions the many commemorative events that are taking place for the centenary of this awful tragedy which resulted in the greatest ever loss of life in the Irish Sea.
