Amy De Bhrún talks to Norma Burke on The Arts Show

An accomplished writer and actor, Amy De Bhrún has written and performed six one woman shows and her acting credits include THE STAG, PENNY DREADFUL, BRIDGET & EAMON, VIKINGS and the new JASON BOURNE movie where she appeared alongside Matt Damon, Alicia Vikander and Tommy Lee Jones.

The world premiere of her latest show – a two-hander called I SEE YOU – is on May 11th at The Theatre Upstairs.

The new show features two characters: Lady Mary Heath – Limerick-born trailblazer of aviation, lost and forgotten, trapped within the walls of time.  And Mary – a middle-class Dublin woman, unseen and unheard, trapped in an abusive relationship that has just taken a turn for the worse.

The show was inspired by the extraordinary true life story of Lady Mary Heath who was born in Limerick in 1896. When she was a baby, her father bludgeoned her mother to death. She was married three times, which was unheard of in the early 1900s. She was an accomplished athlete who campaigned for women to compete in the Olympics. She was the world’s first female commercial pilot, who also was the first to fly the length of Africa without a co-pilot.

Amy joined Norma Burke on the Arts Show to tell her all about the new show and also her upcoming role in the British soap classic Coronation Street.
