Sharon Mannion talks to The Arts Show about The Curse of the Button Accordion

Sharon Mannion (Bridget and Eamon) has a brand new one woman show called Curse of the Button Accordion on at The New Theatre in Temple Bar. She chatted to Norma Burke on The Arts Show about it.

Written and performed by comedian Sharon Mannion, this is a laugh out loud play inspired by Sharon’s experiences growing up in rural Roscommon. In this heart warming coming of age tale Sharon introduces us to the weird and wonderful characters that have influenced her life, not least of all, Frank, her button accordion.

After eighteen months of development, including an in-progress piece in the Scene + Heard Festival, Smock Alley Theatre in Feb 2016, and a full length premiere in Roscommon Arts Centre, March 2017, the play has toured Carlow, Kildare, Wicklow, Leitrim, Wexford and Dundrum before embarking on its Dublin debut at The New Theatre.

“Mannion enthralls and engrosses the audience in what is a faultless performance…riotous laughter…” The Reviews Hub
